Bulimia is just as difficult to treat as anorexia, which both have very low success rates. Please consider that you will be fighting a battle against yourself for the rest of your life if you embark down this road. Having said that, the desired effect of bulimia i.e. weight loss can be immediate. It is not advisable to throw up everything you eat or you will basically be starving yourself and throwing your metabolism way out of whack. It is better to eat healthy filling foods like whole grains and low glucide fruits and vegetables and to not purge them. Consider it a reduced calorie diet plan rather than starvation. This is the mistake many people make, and they are all dead because of it. After you throw up, take care to stay hydrated with water. Take vitamins everyday. Make sure you have enough mineral salts like sodium and potassium in your body at all times. Supplementing this habit with caution and research will go a long way toward keeping you alive. Use a soft toothbrush and a non-abrasive toothpaste like sensodyne. I am only offering this information because everyone else is just repeating the same things over and over again, the complications related to bulimia. Yes, we get it. That doesn’t change the fact that girls and boys will still suffer from this disease. And we should also offer education on how to do so as safely as possible, which is still anything but safe. Just bear in mind that when it gets out of hand (and it will) you can always seek professional treatment and support from those that love you.

About

As you've probably guessed from the title, tips on how to be bulimic (The Proper Way) will be given here.

This writer has been bulimic for six years, a tumultuous period of recovery and relapse. I do not promote bulimia, I am simply trying to minimize the damage done by showing fellow bulimics less damaging methods.

I accept anonymous comments but hurtful, ridiculous or nonsensical comments will be ignored (unless they are too funny!)

Stay beautiful!
